How tutors get paid

How earnings work on Sino Tutor - what you keep, when it becomes available, and how to request a payout to your bank account.

Sino Tutor makes getting paid simple: you set your rate, teach your sessions, and withdraw your earnings to your bank account when it suits you.

What you earn

You set your own hourly rate in rand. For each completed, paid session, Sino Tutor keeps a small platform commission and you keep the rest. The commission covers running the platform - payments, hosting, support and the tools that bring learners to you.

Your net share is always calculated from the session amount and shown clearly, so there are no surprises.

When earnings become available

Earnings accrue as sessions are completed and paid. Each completed, paid booking adds your net share to your balance. Your balance moves through a simple lifecycle: available, then requested once you claim it in a payout, then paid once we process it.

Requesting a payout

Once your available balance reaches the minimum payout amount, you can request a withdrawal from your earnings page. You will need your banking details on file - account holder, bank and account number. We process approved payouts to that account, and you can track each request from the same page.

Keeping your details up to date

Make sure your payout details are accurate before you request a withdrawal - incorrect banking information is the most common cause of a delayed payout. You can update them at any time from your tutoring dashboard.

Tax

You are an independent tutor, not an employee, so you are responsible for any tax obligations that apply to your earnings. Keep your own records of what you earn; your sessions and payouts are always visible on your dashboard.
